The 7 Deadly Sins of Leadership
All of life is a balancing act. A struggle to balance our desires and self-restraint, our appetites and moderation, our courage and our fears. We are in a constant struggle against our own human nature to do things a better way.
It is the same with being a good leader because leadership is just humans acting in ways to motivate other ones.
As a boss, if you don’t strive for certain attitudes over others, if you don’t prioritize the right ones, you’ll quickly fall into the category of someone’s horrible boss.
I’ve practiced, studied, and written about leadership for 25 years in military, corporate, and volunteer settings.
I’ve seen leaders not correctly balance the below points and quickly become despised.
It just takes one of these to be off balance and you risk burning in bad-bosshood. But you can fairly easily flip them all to tip the scales towards virtue and redeem yourself as well.
