7 Simple Ways To Be an Excellent Boss Today
“I may get to it this week, but I have other stuff to do” my former boss used to say when we asked him to review a proposal before sending to a client.
What we heard was “I know you need to get this done as part of your job because I required that you run it through me, but now I’ll just sit on it until I’m ready. You and the customers can just wait until…whenever.”
It was frustrating for both us and the clients. Sure, I know the boss was busy and was entitled to review our work, but if he was requiring this review on everything we did, then he should prioritize it for us to operate efficiently.
I’ve been in various leadership roles in military and corporate environments for 25 years. I’ve seen how some leadership improvements can be easily applied today.
