I knew my life would be different, and better, from that day forward. That was February, 2008 when my first child was born. And I was right, my life would never be the same.
Being a parent is the best but toughest role I’ve ever had. Being a Marine is a cakewalk compared to being a parent. It’s one of those things you never quite know if you’re doing it right. I often just tell myself “as long as I love them as much as I can and believe in them, I can’t go completely wrong.” And that seems to be working so far.
But sometimes we could all use a wisdom boost. Billions of parents went before us so there is some collective wisdom we can gain if we listen.
